Allan has held directorships, governance and lead roles pioneering Iwi led economic and social development whole of system change initiatives within Taitokerau across multiple sector interests that includes health, crime prevention and family violence prevention, radio and telecommunications networks, fisheries and aquaculture, and regional economic development.
He is a former member and champion of the Taitokerau Iwi Chief Executives Consortium that established and ran the internationally acclaimed Amokura Family Violence Intervention and Prevention initiative, Co-Productive relationships with the government and co-lead the development and implementation of Taitokerau Iwi-Led telecommunications, crime prevention and aquaculture strategies. He has a relentless commitment to the social and economic wellbeing of Maori and understands the delicate mix of commercial and cultural sophistication required to deliver solutions that are tailored to the unique needs, values and aspirations of Maori within Taitokerau.
He is experienced in the challenges that Iwi and Maori collectives face and is highly principled in the manner that he engages. He was also a three-term chairman of a Board of Trustees, is currently an advisory board member of the Northland Economic Advisory Group and is currently the Team Leader for the implementation of the Healthy Families NZ initiative within the Far North district.
